I promise I'm not always happy

Put on a smile, I get all chatty

Might even blink at you two times

Might even look into your eyes

I might be dressed all perfectly

And make sure that is all you see

And maybe I will be too kind

Give you a glimpse what’s in my mind

And I might let you walk with me

Might even let you take the lead

Maybe I’ll let you walk me home

And laugh with you while doing so

But I’ll make sure I stay a vision

I will make sure it’s my decision

To let you see the perfect me

To make you like the me you see

I will make sure you don’t get through

To me, my heart, the things I do

I’m painting the facade you need

What society wants me to be

I dare you to get through my walls

Find a way inside my halls

I dare you to look deep within

But there’s no chance I’ll let you in

So believe me when I say

I’m alright and I’m okay

It’s good you think I’m always happy

'Cause if I tried real honesty

I’m sure I’d lose my “quality”
